The LCBA are gearing up to hold their first boaters event which will be held at Ellel Ellel Village hall on Saturday 24th Janaury from 13.30 to 15.30.

This will be their first event and as well as offering a hot serving of curry it will also be a fact finding mission. When the LCBA was set up in October 2025 the intention was to offer help with fuel by proving coal to those who may not be able to afford it. As the committee has now met several times, they’ve discovered that there may also be demand for other services.

During our Curry on the Cut event, boaters will be able to drop in and speak to the committee, sign up to be a member, or even join the volunteering team. It is an opportunity for the LCBA committee to see what help boaters need and the areas that are the most important to them.

The idea of the event will be to discover how the LCBA can be more effective and provide a service to boaters which can truly bring the community together.
