Have you been affected by lack of phone or data signal in the Lancaster Area?

The LCBA has been approached by Citizens Advice North Lancashire.

They are currently working with Lancaster BID and Cat Smith MP to try and get hold of Vodafone and do something about the situation with poor reception and lack of internet in Lancaster.

This is a particular issue for liveaboard boaters. There is evidence of a number of residents missing important appointments or deadlines such as job interviews and others have been sanctioned for benefits due to lack of connectivity around the canal.

Whether you are a permanent resident on the canal or are visiting for the summer and have been unable to work from home while in the Lancaster Area, they would like to hear from you.

The Lancaster Canal Boaters Association is supporting this effort. We’re reaching out to our members who may have experienced difficulty due to the lack of internet in Lancaster and we are appealing to as many people as possible to share their experiences with Citizens Advice North Lancashire in the hope that we can get the right people around the table to try to resolve the situation.

If you would like to share your experience, please contact Caroline Robertson, Research and Campaigns Lead on 01524 400404/ 07942 096774 or by email at: caroliner@northlancashirecab.org.uk
